If it seems like I’ve been MIA around here, you’re right. I’d like to say I’ve been off doing amazing things in the beautiful vacation land of Florida. But really? We’ve finished unpacking the last of the boxes, running down our crawling baby, and settling in our new home. Oh, and the occasional outing to Walmart for some excitement. Our other excitement? Netflix. Redbox. Yea, we’re pretty boring. But let me tell you, the relaxing has been nice. My husband has found a few ways to keep himself entertained before his school is in full swing. How do you keep my husband entertained, you ask? Simple – guns & hockey & the gym. Luckily, we share the same hobbies, so it didn’t take much convincing for me to tag along.
We took a day trip to Alabama (which is really pretty close to where we are in Florida) and shot a pistol competition together. Mitchell tagged along, and I know Steve can’t wait until Mitchell is shooting them with us instead of watching from his stroller [I can wait though – he is growing way too fast already… and ammo is expensive!]. We were in the same group, so we could switch off shooting and stroller duty for the day. Mitchell was unphased and perfectly content all day.
I would be lying if I said I didn’t think he is pretty dang good lookin’!
What is the secret to beating your husband in a pistol match, you ask? Sight picture, sight alignment, and pink nail polish 🙂 Just kidding, I only beat him in a few of the matches 😉
Leave it to my husband to find the only hockey rink within hours of our house. I wanted to play with him, but we don’t really know anyone here yet for babysitting, so I was left to watch from the stands. Mitchell would have just been fine in the stroller – it was so late he slept the entire time! Apparently that’s frowned upon though, leaving your baby unattended in the bleachers during a pick-up hockey game… even if he is wearing his hockey pajamas 😉
Guns. Hockey. Gym. I am thankful for my easily entertained husband who reminds me why I married him every single day 🙂
