This past weekend we went to a birthday party for Steve’s friend at our little swimming hole! It was a surprise party, which turned out to be a success when they finally convinced the guest of honor to stop fishing and show up! But we had fun, especially swimming. It still surprises me every time I feel the water temperature and it’s as warm as a bathtub. Even at night. Definitely one of my favorite parts about living in Florida.
Eventually it got too dark to swim, and I retreated in and continued to celebrate the party with a chocolate cupcake. At which time Mitchell promptly crashed in his stroller to some Jake and the Neverland Pirates on the iPhone.
We put our corn hole boards to use again! Glad we have finally got some chances to pull them out this summer, because they are always so fun when we do.
And the boys rounded out the night by challenging the group of Air Force guys also out there grilling to a friendly match of volleyball. To which the Navy/Marine Corps guys lost. But judging by the amount of sand Steve was covered in, he had fun.
We love this little spot. I returned the next morning for a photoshoot, and got to see the sunrise just a few hours later. Which was really pretty once I got over the fact that my alarm clock was ringing at 4:45.
It was a nice to have some family time over the weekend before Mitchell and I leave on a little trip. Loki’s coming too this time, lucky guy. Plenty more updates from our trip to come 🙂
