California: San Francisco

After the San Jose Thanksgiving festivities wrapped up, Steve’s family scattered. Some back to Northeast, some to the South, and some only an hour away in San Francisco! So we made plans to meet up with Steve’s Uncle Chris and Aunt Mary and their families for a lunch in San Francisco. But before we did, my inner-tourist needed to take a trip to the Golden Gate Bridge. And naturally, I made Steve drive to the top of the mountain so I could put my camera on a tripod and take this picture to prove it. On the cloudiest day imaginable.

After a quick descent in our trusty Ford Focus rental, fondly named “blueberry,” we drove back over the bridge and headed into the city to meet Steve’s aunt and uncle for lunch on the beach.

If only our families weren’t scattered all over the country, we could spend more time having casual lunches and afternoon walks like we did in San Francisco! After our lunch, we spent a little time in a tulip garden in the Golden Gate Park.

Mitchell looooooves his little cousin Jasmine! It was love at first sight at their cousin Bridgette’s wedding last summer and he has been infatuated with her ever since!

I mean, can you blame him? Look at those gorgeous eyes. I couldn’t help but snap a few pictures of her 🙂

An impressively poopy diaper and a hint of need-a-nap Mitchell crankiness cut our park date short, but only after the kids ran a hundred laps around the tulips and the dads chased them to the point of exhaustion. I don’t know when we will make it back to San Francisco again, but we are sure glad we could this trip and catch up on some family time!
