May has come and almost gone and I have no idea where it went. This has been a great month for us, but it also means we’re one month closer to our big goodbye to Daddy, which makes every coming day filled with a bit more anxiety and a bit more desire to treasure the time we do have together. Birthday party planning is in full swing and it will be a day to remember, for sure. With the help of my mother-in-law, we’ve planned a Steve-side-of-the-family trip to Martha’s Vineyard for the 4th of July! It’s a pretty special place to our family, so that’s also high on my things-I’m-looking-forward to list. My mom wrapped up her last day of school today, and she is North Carolina bound for the SUMMER! Our babies get to spend the whole summer with Grandma Brim, and Mommy and Daddy are thrilled to have family in town to help us out a bit 🙂 Although I was sad to say goodbye to their nanny for a few months. But don’t worry, she’ll be back in the fall, and I’m thrilled my two little monsters didn’t scare her off because we love having her! Steve and I were just talking about how we’ve really settled into a groove here, making our day-to-day life pretty predictable and easy. Just in time for things to change again, go figure. But that’s military life, and as my mother-in-law says, “you’re raising some resilient kids.”
We had these pretty flowers bloom in our front yard.
Not long before I have to pass on my two-under-two mommy badge. Mitchell’s gonna be a big boy.
The terrible two’s strike every once in awhile. It’s so hard learning boundaries. And how to express yourself when you only have a few words. But the vocabulary is starting to develop! I think by the time he’s actually two he’s going to be able to communicate a little bit more.
This girl gets cuter everyday.
Dinners at our house usually involve our friends Steve, Danika, and Olivia, at least once a week. It’s so fun to see them sitting on the couch talking about manly stuff like guns and the Marine Corps and sports, holding their sweet little baby girls.
When the kids go to bed, the adults usually end up looking like this.
She has lots of playdates with her baby bestie, Olivia.
Walked in the playroom to find this naked boy stuck in Julia’s bouncer. Perfectly content, reclined, watching a few episodes of Daniel Tiger. Had me laughing pretty good.
Much to Mitchell’s delight, we picked up this little pool at Walmart. I think we’re going to get some good use out of it, and for summers to come.
Julia mostly observed from her under the hood of her swimsuit. Belly rolls for days.
We took the Jeep for the first family spin, Julia included.
And since we’re spending most of our days outside lately, we were pretty excited to be able to go to the park as a whole family! Yay, for Daddy coming home from work early!
And last, but not least, we ended last night with this sky. I love this life I’ve been blessed with. This little family of mine is one of His greatest gift. Let all the glory be to God for these memories, our home, our health, our families, our friends, our jobs, and everything about this beautiful life we’re living.
