Last Days of Summer

The pool closes THIS WEEKEND. What?! It’s still 90 degrees outside and it hardly feels like fall. So, yesterday we took it upon ourselves to do every summer activity in the book. Family run. Swimming pool. Park. Tricycle. And then 11 hours of sleep. Glorious, glorious, summer mid-week weekends with my babies.

And while I’m not quite ready to join some of our neighbors who ALREADY are sporting pumpkins and hay bales on their porches, I won’t be disappointed when the cool fall breeze sets in and we can move onto the next season of waiting for Daddy to come home. It felt so good to tear that August page off of our calendar!
