This is the second month in a row we were able to stop and visit one of my old friends where they are stationed in Fort Lee, Virginia! I love my hometown friends, and I love my military wife friends, and she happens to be both! They are expert picnic-ers. Seriously, the best two picnics I have ever had in my life, no exaggerating! Their picnic came complete with a basket of apples, festive cookies, and sippy cups decorated with pumpkin stickers! I hope we’re able to make these visits a regular thing!
We wrapped up our lunch, and as if the adorable picnic wasn’t enough, Jenny brought a scavenger hunt for the kiddos! Off they went collecting leaves and pinecones and rocks in their respective bags.
This little girl is so darling, I could take a million pictures of her! She has the cutest, funniest things to say. I know how much fun we are going to have when Mitchell is in that chatterbox stage. Her momma is doing such an amazing job raising her. I love having friends who are such excellent job of parenting – it’s so encouraging!
The leaves were absolutely beautiful and it was the first weekend it really felt like fall. We have so many fun fall activities planned, and this whirlwind weekend was a pretty great start! Bring on the hoodies and boots.
We wrapped up our Friday in Virginia, and moved on to our Saturday in Pennsylvania and our Sunday in Washington D.C.! More on that later 🙂
