A quick update on my dad’s east coast adventures this winter. I mentioned that when he came to visit (from Kansas) for Christmas that he was staying on the east coast for several months for some work-related training. Today I’m here to brag about him a little because we are so darn proud! This morning he is officially graduation from the FBI National Academy – “a professional course of study for U.S. and international law enforcement managers nominated by their agency heads because of demonstrated leadership qualities.” Straight from their website. They only hold two sessions per year and it’s very hard to be accepted, so being invited to attend is an unbelievable accomplishment in itself! It’s quite an honor for any law enforcement officer to attend this school, and my dad can officially say he’s been there, done that, and got a t-shirt! I felt pretty terrible that I might not be able to attend his graduation (though trying to not have a second baby solo is a pretty good excuse), but my mom was able to sneak out of her official representative duties for the weekend to be support for all of us! It’s been pretty great to grow up with such a good role model my whole life – my dad continues to impress us all!
And since my parents were in Quantico on the same exact week they were expecting their third grandchild, they are hopping on I-95S after the graduation to celebrate with their newest family member! Grandma and Grandpa Brim are currently in-bound to meet their newest grandbaby before they head back to Kansas! And while we’re sad we couldn’t be there to celebrate my dad’s big accomplishment, we’ll be sure to have a congratulatory cookie cake waiting for him! Love you Dad!
