This afternoon, we had some quality family time prepping for Christmas! How do we have two kiddos that understand the reason for the season and a baby celebrating her first Christmas? I think that alone justifies the need for two Christmas trees, because we definitely got two Christmas trees! After a nice lunch at Mission BBQ, a quick stop at Hobby Lobby to pick up some fabric for Aubrey’s stocking, and the glasses store to repair some broken glasses, our final stop was the most exciting – Christmas trees!
Julia was happy to march all over the place and pick out her very own tree. And then try to drag it into the middle of the aisle, somewhat successfully.
We decided to get two – one for the playroom (so you can see it out the front window!), and another for the living room. Last year, we got a small tree for the playroom, but this year, my Christmas bug is a little bit bigger and we got two eight footers.
We headed straight home, and got both trees up! The girls were mesmerized by the twinkle lights! We’re about half decorated inside now, and haven’t even started the outside. I don’t remember this being so much hard work in years past – is it just me?!
So, despite the fact that I am still posting about fall here on the blog, Christmas season has hit the Martin household! And I’m ready to start baking Christmas cookies!
